Excerpt:
The stranger was tall and well-muscled and walked with a slight limp he might have been trying to hide.  As they approached, the man removed his cap, revealing a thick head of dark blond hair.  He wasn't as old as Becca had initially thought.
"Momma!  It's a magic bunny!  Look how it turned into a man, right in front of me.  Please, can I keep him?  He won't eat much, at least he won't once I change him back to a bunny.  Please say I can keep him."
Becca frowned at her son.  She turned her gaze to the man's face.  "Good morning," she said.  He had vibrant blue eyes, almost mesmerizing.  Becca found she was unwilling to look away.
"Good morning, ma'am.  I'm sorry if my presence startled you, and I seem to have confused your boy here."
"Momma, can I keep him?  I'll take real good care of him and keep him out of your garden."
Becca tore her gaze away from the stranger and focused on her son.  "Thomas, the bunny didn't turn into this man, you just came across him while chasing the bunny.  The rabbit probably found a hole into his house and is safe and sound under the field somewhere."
"He did too!  One second there was a bunny, and then he was a man lying in the grass.  Wait, I'll show you."  Thomas began pumping the man's hand, shaking his arm up and down.  "Become a rabbit," he commanded.
Becca couldn't help but smile as she watched the poor man who was clearly at a loss as to what to do.  "Perhaps it would help if you told us how you came to be lying in the grass?" she suggested.
A Frightful Misconception cover
When Mitch begins caring for his ailing neighbor, he doesn't expect it to be so disturbing. It isn't the strange noises the elderly woman hears that make the hairs on his neck rise.  Home-care nurse Meghan is the cause, and she affects more than his hair.

Meghan isn't fooled by Mitch's tough-guy act one bit.  Although he tries to hide it, the caring man she sees is the kind of man she's looking for.  They work together to ease an old woman's last days; or do they?

When Mitch is arrested, will Meghan trust him enough to stand by him?
